Twiddle has announced the final shows of its Distance Makes The Heart Tour, the Vermont-native jam quartet’s last outing before beginning an indefinite hiatus in 2024. The band will say goodbye (for now) among “frends” with its annual Frendsgiving run at Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre on November 24th, 25th, and 26th. Montana-based “galaxy grass” group Kitchen Dwellers will open the festivities on 11/24 and 11/25 while Twiddle will serve up a three-set performance including an acoustic set on 11/26.
A limited amount of Single Day, VIP, 3-Day GA, and 3-Day VIP Artist Pre-Sale tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, August 2nd at 10:00 a.m. ET with password FRENDSGIVING. Remaining tickets of all types will go on sale to the general public beginning on Friday, August 4th at 10:00 a.m. ET.
A Frendsgiving VIP Package will also be available alongside the pre-sale and general on sale. VIP purchasers will receive a premium reserved or GA ticket to the show, a private pre-show acoustic performance, a meet-and-greet and group photo with the band, show poster autographed by Twiddle (multi-day VIP Purchasers will receive a different poster each night), a VIP laminate (multi-day VIP Purchasers will receive a different laminate each night), early entry to the venue, and first access to merch before doors open to the public. News of the coming Twiddle hiatus was announced in late 2022 by way of a note from guitarist/vocalist Mihali Savoulidis. “I’ve now come to a crossroads in life where I feel I’m being pulled in many different directions,” he wrote. “I need to make the right choice for me and for my family. I feel that now is the time to make a much needed change to gain a different perspective on life and focus my creative energy elsewhere.”
The band has toured extensively since then, making stops around the country throughout the first half of 2023. Before Twiddle says “see you later” at the Cap, the band has plenty on its schedule to fill the remaining summer and fall months. Notable upcoming tour dates include two nights at Philadelphia, PA’s Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia (9/15, 9/16), a show at Hampton Beach Casino in Hampton, NH (10/6), and a hometown sendoff at Burlington, VT’s Flynn Theatre (10/7).
The band will also host the return of its Tumble Down festival on September 22nd and 23rd at Wonderland Forest in Lafayette, NY. The weekend is due to feature four sets of Twiddle in addition to performances by Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Dopapod, Dogs in a Pile (two sets), Mihali, The Breakfast, Baked Shrimp, and Mike Powell.
