Watch Foo Fighters Welcome Superfan Michael Bublé At Outside Lands

Foo Fighters have been introducing Josh Freese by performing a portion of Michael Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet” at recent shows as part of a medley featuring tunes to which the drummer contributed. Dave Grohl has been asking all tour long if anyone in the audience knows the words to Bublé’s 2009 hit and on Saturday at Outside Lands the Foo Fighters frontman found the perfect superfan to sing “Haven’t Met You Yet” — Michael Bublé.

The surprise collaboration came towards the middle of Foo Fighters’ headlining set at Outside Lands in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Grohl and his bandmates started performing “Haven’t Met You Yet” after working through portions of other songs associated with Freese. “Who knows the fucking song?” Grohl asked the crowd. He then pointed out a “superfan” holding a “I Love Bublé” sign. “This motherfucker better know the song,” the frontman continued as Bublé made his way to the stage.

Dave Grohl inserted his own line into the song singing, “I just haven’t fucked you yet.” He then acknowledged it was truly Bublé. “This bad ass motherfucker – and I’m not even kidding – flew in today from Argentina to fucking sing that song to you guys. Because there’s no such thing as taking a joke too far,” exclaimed Grohl.

Foo Fighters treated fans at Outside Lands to a 19-song set. Dave Grohl brought out his daughter, Violet Grohl, to join the band for a three-tune stretch of “Shame Shame,” “Show Me How” and “The Teacher.” Violet’s guest spot was followed by “Best Of You” and then an “Aurora” dedicated to late drummer Taylor Hawkins. The group closed their set in typical fashion with “Everlong.”
