Aerosmith has postponed the next six shows on their recently launched “Peace Out” farewell tour due to a vocal cord injury sustained by frontman Steven Tyler. The concerts have been rescheduled for early 2024.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” wrote Tyler in a note posted on Aerosmith’s Instagram. “I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”

Aerosmith kicked off their 40-city farewell tour of North America on Saturday, September 2 in Philadelphia. Tyler and bandmates Tom Hamilton, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and John Douglas (subbing for Joey Kramer) made it through shows in Pittsburgh and Elmont (New York) before postponing concerts originally slated for September 12 – 27.

The rescheduled dates have been tacked on to the end of the tour, which features The Black Crowes as support. Aerosmith will now play Detroit on January 29, Chicago on February 14, Washington D.C. on February 17, Toronto on February 21, Raleigh on February 26 and Cleveland on February 29. While previously purchased tickets will be honored on the new dates, refunds are available for ticketholders unable to attend.
