Khruangbin has released Live at The Fillmore Miami with “chillwave” figurehead Toro y Moi, the latest in a series of live albums from the Texas-native trio featuring the various acts it welcomed on tour in 2021 and 2022.
Live at The Fillmore Miami with Toro y Moi marks the fourth of five Khruangbin live albums to be released so far this year. It begins with five tracks by Toro y Moi and comes to a close with four live Khruangbin songs including “First Class”, “August 12”, “August 10”, and “Maria También”.
The previous three document the band’s landmark stops at Radio City Musical Hall in New York City with Nubya Garcia, RBC Echo Beach in Toronto, ON with Men I Trust, and Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, TX with Kelly Doyle, Ruben Moreno, The Suffers, and Robert Ellis. Khruangbin detailed the first four parts of the five-part series ahead of time, and the release of the Miami collection marks the end of that pre-charted path. As for the fifth and final live album, Khruangbin said when the series was announced, “great things come to those who wait.”

Though they’re off the road now, Khruangbin’s Mark Speer (guitar), Laura Lee (bass), and Donald “DJ” Johnson (drums) have been on countless global tours and graced nearly every major festival stage in the world including Glastonbury, Primavera, Coachella, and many more. A tried and true touring band, Khruangbin embarked on its biggest tour to date in 2022 which included multiple sold-out nights at LA’s Greek Theatre, NYC’s Radio City Music Hall, and London’s Alexandra Palace. As the group’s own live show has accrued a steadfast following, the band has been equally committed to showcasing its favorite musicians with a diverse stable of tour-mates.
