See Umphrey’s McGee & Jason Bonham Rip Up ‘Whole Lotta Love’ At All IN Music Festival

Umphrey’s McGee teamed with drummer Jason Bonham and his Led Zeppelin Evening bandmate vocalist James Dylan for a Led Zeppelin Dreamset at the recent Al IN Festival in Indianapolis on Sunday, September 10. UM shared pro-shot video of the Zep classic “Whole Lotta Love.”

Dreamset was no exaggeration as Umphrey’s McGee teamed with Jason Bonham — son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham — for a stellar set featuring a host of LZ favorites including “Ramble On,” “What Is and What Should Never Be,” “The Song Remains The Same,” “Good Times Bad Times,” “No Quarter,” “Kashmir,” “Going to California” and “Hey, Hey What Can I Do” among others with the latter two featuring Paul Hoffman and Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass.

Besides the Umphrey’s McGee originals played, nearly every song was a bust out for the band with many of them last played when Bonham and Dylan joined UM at Red Rocks for a Zep set in 2019. At All IN, guitarist Brendan Bayliss noted, “last time we got to do this Jason made a comment that I thought was very appropriate, he said, ‘It should be illegal to have this much fun.’”

Guitarist Jake Cinninger then launched into the iconic “Whole Lotta Love” riff followed by a spot on vocal performance from Dylan. Bonham naturally nailed the middle drum section ahead of more Jimmy Page and Robert Plant channeling from Jake and James respectively followed by a raucous conclusion.
