Victor Wooten and The Wooten Brothers have shared a video for their new single, “Sweat”, the title track from their upcoming first album in decades, and it’s just as funky as you’d expect. The single arrives ahead of the brothers highly anticipated reunion tour, which kicks off tonight in Chattanooga, TN.

Led by world-renowned bassist and educator Victor Wooten, The Wooten Brothers combine the talents of keyboardist Joseph Wooten, a.k.a. the “Hands of Soul,” Roy “Futureman” Wooten, known for his trademark inventions the “Drumitar” and the “RoyEI” keyboard, and Regi Wooten, known worldwide as “The Teacha”. The brothers started playing together as children but have each gone on to pursue their own careers in music. Now they are reuniting for their first collaborative album and tour in many years, and for the first time since the passing of their sax-playing brother Rudy Wooten in 2010.

“Being in a band with my brothers is the best thing for me,” Victor Wooten said when the reunion tour was announce earlier this year. “It’s like a family reunion every time we get together to play. They are my teachers and I feel most at home with them.

“The music we are working on at the moment is a collection of new and old,” he added. “We have songs that were recorded decades ago that have never been heard by anyone. We also have newer music that was recorded over the last year. It will be a nice collection of old and new. With the older music, we want to introduce the world to Rudy, our saxophone playing brother who passed away in 2010. Be prepared to have your mind blown.”

Listen to “Sweat” by The Wooten Brothers below. The song will debuted by the band at the tour opener in Chattanooga and will be available on streaming platforms on Friday, September 29th. Sweat the album is due for release in 2024.
