The second annual All IN Music & Arts Festival came to a close last night with a Led Zeppelin Dreamset presented by Umphrey’s McGee and drummer Jason Bonham. Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening vocalist James Dylan handled vocals for the majority of a set that contained a bevy of Led Zeppelin classics, including two performed with Greensky Bluegrass mandolinist Paul Hoffman and dobroist Anders Beck, as well as a pair of Umphrey’s originals.

All IN Music & Arts Festival returned to the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis on Saturday and Sunday. Jason Bonham, son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, was behind the kit for the duration of the 90-minute late-night set on Sunday which took place in the Indiana Farmers Coliseum arena, aka the Indosphere. UM drummer Kris Myers missed the set as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.

Umphrey’s McGee, Jason Bonham and James Dylan tore through “Immigrant Song” to kick off the Dreamset and then played “Ramble On” complete with guitarist Jake Cinninger teasing Jimi Hendrix’s “Third Stone From The Sun.” Next up was a spot-on “What Is And What Should Never Be” and a bombastic “Whole Lotta Love.” Then, guitarist Brendan Bayliss handled lead vocals on UM originals “The Silent Type” and “Conduit.” The latter incorporated both a verse of “Roxanne” and “So Lonely” teases as the six musicians honored The Police. “Roxanne” was last performed by Umphrey’s McGee way back on July 22, 2002 — a span of 2,228 shows.

Keyboardist Joel Cummins welcomed Hoffman and Beck to the stage for “Going To California” and “Hey Hey What Can I Do.” Both songs featured Bayliss on acoustic guitar with Brendan singing “Going To California” and James Dylan returning to helm “Hey Hey What Can I Do.” From there, Umphrey’s McGee, Jason Bonhan and James Dylan delivered rousing renditions of “The Song Remains The Same” and “Good Times Bad Times.”

UM had played each of the Led Zeppelin covers played last night previously with the exception of the enusing “The Ocean.” The biggest bust out when it came to LZ tunes was “Going To California,” which had been shelved by Umphrey’s since April 2, 2011.

Jason Bonham took a moment before “No Quarter” to dedicate the Houses Of The Holy standout to Led Zeppelin multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones. The set then rolled on with a hard-hitting “When The Levee Breaks.” Umphrey’s McGee, Jason Bonham and James Dylan brought the memorable set and All IN Festival to a close with “Kashmir.”
