British singer beabadoobee and Icelandic-Chinese artist Laufey have linked up for a new single titled ‘A Night To Remember’. It’s the third single from beabadoobee this year, following ‘the way things go’ and ‘Glue Song’ (which featured fellow indie pop artist Clairo).
‘A Night To Remember’ came together when the two artists were hanging out in London. They jumped into the studio with beabadoobee’s producer, Jacob Bugden, before finishing it off with Laufey’s collaborator, Spencer Stewart, in LA. Listen to the track below.
beabadoobee & Laufey: ‘A Night To Remember’
“I’ve been writing with a lot of different rhythms recently, also with strings and nods to more classical sounds,” beabadoobee – born Beatrice Kristi Laus – shared about the track. “We wrote ‘A Night To Remember’ and decided we wanted to write something that sounds grand but a bit more sexy lyrically and have fun with that theme.”
“There are so many songs about being rejected as a woman,” said Laufey, “and this song is about being on the other side of the coin – having one great night then walking away. Reclaiming the narrative!”
Laufey continued, “This song is a true marriage of my and Bea’s sonic worlds and I can’t wait for the world to dive into the cinematic sound this song offers.”
beabadoobee’s released the album Live in London earlier this year, while Laufey released her second studio album Bewitched in September 2023.
