Beyond the Valley has beefed up its 2022/23 festival lineup, with US hip hop artist Ferg (fka A$AP Ferg) and Sydney duo Flight Facilities joining previously-announced headliners RÜFÜS DU SOL, Central Cee, Peggy Gou and plenty more. Kelis, however, has cancelled her performance at the festival, citing a need to “come off the road for a little while to regroup.”
A total of nine artists have been added to the Beyond the Valley lineup, which is happening from Thursday, 28th December to Monday, 1st January on Barunah Plains in Hesse, Victoria. The other star additions include internationally acclaimed DJ C.FRIM and techno excellency Jennifer Loveless. See the full list of new recruits below.
Jennifer Loveless – ‘Muzik’
Flight Facilities will bring their Decades DJ set to Beyond the Valley. The live show stems from the pair’s long-running mix series comprising journeys through every decade from 1962 until the present day. Jennifer Loveless and C.FRIM will command the decks in the festival’s Dance Dome alongside the likes of Airwolf Paradise b2b Torren Foot, PARIS, Tseba and Sasha Fern.
In a statement concerning her withdrawal, Kelis committed to return to Australia as soon as feasible. “As many of you will know, it’s been a tough couple of years, but I’ve been out there working hard on the road and at home on the farm, all whilst providing stability and nurturing my children,” she said.
“I was excited to be coming back to Australia and New Zealand and seeing you all again. I will be back; I’m making a new record and [I’ll] be back better than ever but for now it’s a needed pause. Thanks for understanding and your support all these years.”
Peggy Gou will handle the New Year’s countdown set on Sunday, 31st December. The festival organisers have also locked in the daily lineups – find all the details below.
