Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ 2010 blues-influenced album Mojo is set for a digital re-release on October 20, marking the late rock legend’s birthday, via Warner Records. The forthcoming Extra Mojo version contains two previously unreleased songs including a cover from blues great Sonny Boy Williamson II, “Help Me,” which arrived today.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers recorded Mojo at their Clubhouse recording facility in Los Angeles. The record arrived on June 15, 2010 and contains latter-day favorites like Tom Petty/Mike Campbell co-write “I Should Have Known It,” “Good Enough,” “First Flash of Freedom” and “Something Good Coming.”
“With this album, I want to show other people what I hear with the band,” Petty stated back in 2010. “Mojo is where the band lives when it’s playing for itself.”
Another track from the sessions, “Mystery of Love,” appears on Extra Mojo alongside its previously unreleased companion, “Help Me.” Watch the in-studio music video for “Help Me” featuring newly unearthed footage from The Clubhouse:
