Longtime Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe guitarist DJ Williams, who recently resigned from the band after a 12-year stint, hits the road with his own ensemble later this month for a three-week fall tour. Williams’ upcoming trek comes in support of his 2023 solo album, Soldier Of Love.
Williams recruited three top-flight Denver-based musicians to back him at shows expected to feature a mix of songs from Soldier Of Live, other new originals and choice covers. Drummer Kowan Turner, bassist Will Gaines and keyboardist Dominick Williams will join DJ Williams as his band for the upcoming fall tour.
“I can’t wait to connect with the audience through this new music and this show. This tour is going to be a celebration of everything I’ve been honing and perfecting over the last decade,” explained DJ Williams. The tour begins at Zoo Bar in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 28.
DJ Williams ends October with gigs in St. Louis on the 29th, Dubuque (Iowa) on the 30th and Chicago on Halloween. The quartet then hits Iowa City on November 1 and Hill City (South Dakota) on November 3. Shows in the guitarist’s home-state of Virginia on November 10 and 11 in Richmond and Roanoke on November 18 bookend the final portion of the excursion. In between come stops in the Carolinas as DJ Williams and his band will play Charleston on November 14, Winston-Salem on November 15, Hempstead (North Carolina) on November 16 and Charlotte on November 17.
