Jerry Douglas, Béla Fleck, Del McCoury Band and more are on the bill for Earl Scruggs’ 100th Birthday Celebration. The milestone event is set to take place at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on January 6, 2024.
Bluegrass pioneer Earl Scruggs was born on January 6, 1924 in Shelby, North Carolina. He went on to revolutionize banjo playing, adopting a three-finger picking style that carries his name. Earl Scruggs passed away on March 28, 2012.
Also set to celebrate Scruggs’ 100th birthday are The Earls of Leicester, Gena Britt, Alison Brown, Sam Bush, Jimmie Fadden, Jeff Hanna, Sierra Hull, Justin Moses, Jerry Pentecost, Harry Stinson, Bryan Sutton, Tony Trischka and more. Jerry Douglas will act as music director.
