My Morning Jacket stopped at New York’s Beacon Theatre over the weekend and dedicated the first night of the three-show run to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band’s 2003 album It Still Moves.

Thursday’s show consisted of a full recreation of the 12-track album, but Jim James and the band didn’t leave it there. James returned to the stage to open a seven-song encore with a solo rendition of his song “I Needed It Most”, played for the first time since 2018. The encore also featured the live debut of It Still Moves outtake “Grab a Body”.

Madi Diaz played an opening set each night and joined MMJ for Cat Stevens‘ “The Wind” during Friday’s encore and again for “I Will Be There When You Die” during Saturday’s main set.

Two It Still Moves 20ths anniversary shows remain on My Morning Jacket’s fall tour, which continues this week with shows in the Northeast. The band also has plans to host its One Big Holiday concert vacation in Mexico with The War on Drugs, Courtney Barnett, Futurebirds, Shabazz Palaces, and more in April.
