Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade brought the Hunt for Green October tour to Brooklyn Steel Sunday night for an amphibious affair.
The band recently welcomed Skerik back to the stage, returning the unit to full strength after the saxophonist suffered a shoulder injury that prevented him from participating in the band’s Summer of Green reunion tour.
In addition to giving fans one last chance to witness the band’s take on Pink Floyd‘s Animals performed in its entirety, this run has also seen the introduction of the “lilypad,” a dedicated section at all general admission shows where fans are encouraged to “let their frog flag fly” by wearing their most creative costumes, or at least the color green. One costumed fan is selected at each show to receive an autographed show poster.
Sunday’s show also featured deeper cuts from throughout Les Claypool’s solo catalog, including songs from Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and Colonel Claypool’s Bucket of Bernie Brains.
