The Sessanta tour featuring Primus, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle has been expanded with five new shows in the Southeastern U.S. The April 2024 trek, which will see collaborative performances with shared band members among the three acts, comes in the celebration of Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer frontman Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday.
Sessanta follows Cinquanta, a 2014 concert held in Los Angeles in honor of Keenan’s 50th birthday. The format for the upcoming tour will find each band performing their own distinctive set with musicians from the other groups join in. “The players will continually transform as the night unfolds,” as per a press release for the Sessanta tour.
“Although I am slowly going deaf with all the rock song touring, and the aging and what not,” Maynard James Keenan stated, “the thunderous cacophony of whining and crying from the places we aren’t playing Sessanta was heard loud and clear. But instead of being a grumpy old fart and calling you all a Waahhhmnulance, we decided to book a few more shows. Thank you @poopoopeepee69, @blunthole420 and many others for changing our minds. U.S. only though. I gotta be in bed by 7:30.”
The tour will now start in Raleigh, North Carolina on April 7. Puscifer, Primus and A Perfect Circle then hit Alpharetta, Georgia on April 9 and Franklin, Tennessee on April 10. New dates in Texas were also added with stops in Irving on April 12 and The Woodlands on April 13. Sessanta then heads west for seven previously announced tour dates.
