Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen has been released from the hospital after being treated for an undisclosed illness. Steely Dan canceled several performances opening for the Eagles on their farewell Long Goodbye Tour but will rejoin the tour in November.
Rolling Stone and Consequence reported on Fagen’s release from the hospital, both citing “a source close to the situation.” Sheryl Crow filled in for Steely Dan by opening for the Eagles last week in Denver.
Steve Miller Band opened for the Eagles on Monday (October 9) in Indianapolis and will continue on the tour at stops in Detroit and Cleveland. Eagles guitarist Vince Gill will play an opening set when the tour lands in Pittsburgh on October 15.
The next tour date listed on the official Steely Dan website is supporting the Eagles on November 2 in Atlanta. Also listed are additional shows in November opening for the Eagles in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; Lexington, Kentucky and St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as two shows in Los Angeles in January 2024.
