Take 2: Reunited Talking Heads To Appear On ‘Colbert’

Talking Heads members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison will swing by the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City next Wednesday, October 25 for an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The reunited bandmates who are promoting the 40th anniversary re-release of their iconic, Jonathan Demme-directed 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense were originally slated to visit Colbert this past Wednesday. However, the appearance was postponed after host Stephen Colbert was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Byrne, Weymouth, Frantz and Harrison have been making the rounds in support of the newly restored flick largely considered one of the best concert films of all-time. The four musicians, who last performed together at the 2002 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony/concert, discussed Stop Making Sense at the Toronto Film Festival last month. Talking Heads appeared on CBS Sunday Morning a few weeks later.

A24 Presents The 40th Anniversary Re-Release Of Stop Making Sense is currently being screened at various theaters worldwide. Canadian actor/comedian Mae Martin is also slated to appear on next Wednesday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
