U2 added 11 new dates to their current U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere residency in Las Vegas. The shows announced today span January 26 – February 18, 2024 and also include performances on January 27 and 31 as well as February 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 15 and 17.
Tickets for the new shows go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, October 25 at 11 a.m. PT. Buy tickets for U2 at The Sphere via Ticketmaster.com. A presale for U2.com paid subscribers opens on Thursday, October 19 at 10 a.m. PT. Subscribers must first submit a ticket request.
Despite a Las Vegas Review-Journal report U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. would recover enough from his health ailments to reunite with his bandmates early next year, he will not be behind the kit in January and February. Vocalist Bono, guitarist The Edge and bassist Adam Clayton will be joined by drummer Bram van den Berg at the newly-announced shows as they have been/will at the first 25 dates of the residency.
Among the new dates are Friday, February 9 and Saturday, Feburary 10, the two days before Allegiant Stadium in nearby Paradise, Nevada hosts Super Bowl LVIII. 2024 will be the first time the NFL championship game is held in the Las Vegas area.
U2 are the first and only act to perform at the long-in-the-making Sphere operated by MSG Entertainment. The venue boasts stunning, state-of-the-art immersive technology. Over $2.3 billion was poured into the venue, which was announced in 2018 with construction starting the following year. Many reviews of the show and venue have been glowing, while others such as Jon Caramanica of the New York Times felt U2 was overshadowed by the spectacle at The Sphere.
