All four songs on boygenius’ upcoming EP, the rest, have now been performed live in concert by the trio consisting of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. The band premiered “Voyager” last Thursday and debuted “Powers” on Saturday.
The tracklist for the rest remained a secret when the EP was announced. boygenius revealed the songs on the EP by premiering them one at a time, in order, over the course of four shows. The band debuted “Black Hole” during a show in Boston and then “Afraid Of Heights” was played for the first time on night two in Boston.
Thursday’s concert at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut featured the first live performance of the third song on the rest, “Voyager.” Sung by Bridgers who played acoustic guitar, the stark arrangement featured Dacus and Baker singing harmonies.

Saturday’s concert at The Mann Center in Philadelphia presented the live debut of the fourth and final song on the rest, “Powers.” Featuring Baker singing lead and playing acoustic guitar, Bridgers and Dacus added backing vocals while the horn section came in to guide the end of the performance.

A companion to boygenius’ debut album, the record, which was released earlier this year, the rest was co-produced by boygenius and Tony Berg, Jake Finch, Ethan Gruska, Calvin Lauber, Collin Pastore and Marshall Vore. The four-song EP will be released on Friday, October 13.
boygenius performs tonight, Monday, October 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The show will begin with an opening set by Muna.
