From 2011 through 2013 the Whippersnap Festival took place in the Chicago area each summer featuring an array of local, regional and nationally-touring jam bands. Whippersnap will finally return next February for its first outing in over a decade at a new location 1,150 miles from where the festival was last held.

The 2024 Whippersnap Festival will take place at Florida Sand Music Ranch in Brooksville, Florida from February 22 – 24. Headliners The New Mastersounds will perform twice over the course of the three-day music festival, which currently stand as the Leeds-birthed funk band’s first shows in the United States since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

TAUK Moore, Cool Cool Cool, The Heavy Pets, Funk You, John “Papa” Gros, Ajeva, Joe Marcinek, Frank Bang, Displace, Tire Fire, Antelope: A Tribute To The Band Phish, Jessica Jones, Moonstone Riders, Tamayo, Bodhicitta, Boxcar Hollow, Light The Wire and Kat Hines are also featured on the Whippersnap Festival 2024 lineup. Tickets are on sale now via Humanitix.

Joe Marcinek and Jessica Jones will serve as the festival’s Artists-at-Large. All told, 28 acts will perform across Whippersnap’s two stages. Live paint artists will be on hand with wellness classes, scheduled community campfire drum sessions and activities for kids available at the family-friendly event.

Whippersnap’s social feeds came alive earlier this year. In May, organizers posted a note attached to a save-the-date announcement discussing the event’s return:

It’s been 10 years since the last Whippersnap Festival and a lot of things have changed, including a promoter zip code.
What hasn’t changed is the love of producing a festival. The artists, the people, the camaraderie, building a little hippie community for the weekend is something we take great pride in doing.

As we look forward to settling into our new home at Florida Sands Music Ranch, we have selected dates geared towards comfort. Shorts and a t shirt during the day, hoodies and campfires in the evening. In other words, what should be the perfect camping weather. We’re also going to shamelessly use this weather as an enticement for the Illinois Whippersnappers that might consider heading out for another go round.

This years event will feature a lineup that showcases some of the best of Floridian jam/funk/blues/folk & bluegrass bands & will be rounded out with a handful of acts from outside the state of Florida.

The park is a dream.

200+ full hook up RV spaces, bath houses w/ flushing toilets and showers. Expansive shaded tree camping, surrounded by live oaks and spanish moss, this place is stunning.
