Google’s newest flagship Android smartphone is only a couple months old, but you can already pick one up at a steep discount. For Black Friday, the company is knocking $200 off the retail price of the Pixel 8 Pro. If you’ve been waiting for a deal to pick up a new Android smartphone, this one gets an easy recommendation.
The Pixel 8 Pro typically retails for $999, but is $799 at the moment. That 20% discount still gets you a phone driven by Google’s latest Tensor 2 chip—which comes equipped with features like built-in generative AI functions—as well as the best camera setup on any Pixel yet.
That $799 price tag applies to the 128GB storage model, but the 256GB model and the 512GB model are also $200 cheaper—currently listed for $859 (list price $1,059) and $979 (list price $1,179), respectively. If you’ve been holding out, these prices are unlikely to drop any lower, at least not this year.
It’s not just a great deal, but a great phone—the Pixel 8 Pro is a good choice for anyone in the Android ecosystem. As I wrote in my Pixel 8 Pro review, the device is a solid evolution from the Pixel 7, and feels like Google is finally finding its stride in the flagship smartphone market. The Pixel 8 offers a massive 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a blazing maximum brightness of 2,400 nits, so you can see what you’re doing no matter what kind of lighting you’re in. Its AI features are impressive, and the camera won’t disappoint. In every technical sense, it’s a good buy.
What’s more, Google has promised to support it for seven years, which means the device will get new updates through 2030. That’s great peace of mind for those who like to keep our devices for as long as possible—Google won’t directly force you to upgrade due to a lack of support for the rest of the decade.
This $200 Black Friday deal is available through both Google and Amazon, so you can pick it up at either retailer to take advantage of the savings. It won’t last forever, though, so act fast.
