Warren Haynes is stuffing Christmas Jam attendees’ stockings full of special guests with Tuesday’s announcement of additional artists and a livestream.
Set for December 9th in Haynes’ hometown of Asheville, NC, the 32nd Christmas Jam will feature guest appearances by John Medeski (Medeski Martin & Wood), George Porter Jr. (The Meters), saxophonist Bill Evans, fellow Asheville guitarist Mike Barnes, noted session drummer Greg Morrow, and more. These additional musicians will supplement the previously announced lineup including Slash and Myles Kennedy, Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top), Haynes’ own Gov’t Mule, ’90s groove metal unit Clutch, a rare appearance by Tom Hamilton‘s American Babies featuring Joe Russo and Jim Hamilton, and budding indie-psych bassist Karina Rykman.
Those who can’t make it to the ExploreAsheville.com Arena are invited to tune in to the official livestream on Volume. Tickets to the livestream also include access to watch the annual invite-only pre-jam on Friday, December 8th at The Orange Peel, where Haynes will play alongside unannounced Xmas Jam guests. Others looking to maximize their Christmas Jam experience can head downtown early on Saturday for the Jam By Day. The daytime lineup will present over two dozen acts at downtown venues the Asheville Music Hall, The One Stop @ Asheville Music Hall, and Jack Of The Wood, all conveniently located within walking distance of the arena. Acts will perform from noon until 4:30 p.m. before doors open for Christmas Jam, with highlights including Joe Marcineck’s Dead Summit featuring Jason Hann (The String Cheese Incident), Sam Brouse (Papadosio), Josh Clark (Tea Leaf Green), Melody Trucks, and more.
Visitors can take in the sounds of Asheville with an array of local acts including Empire Strikes Brass, The Snozzberries, Red Clay Revival, Andrew Scotchie, and more in addition to a Songwriters in the Round summit at Jack of the Wood. Tickets for Christmas Jam By Day are $20 and are available at each venue’s respective box office, with one inclusive ticket granting access to the Asheville Music Hall and The One Stop.
