With the holiday season fading into the rearview and familial obligations fulfilled, live music fans around the country are gearing up for their holiday season. New Year’s Eve is steadily approaching, and nugs.net has a full roster of concert streams from coast to coast by Billy Strings, The String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, and many more.
The slate of nearly 20 concert livestreams begins on December 28th when Mt. Joy opens its four-night run at The Salt Shed in Chicago, which will run through the 31st. Turnpike Troubadours will also air a lone concert during the extended New Year’s weekend, from Billy Bob Texas‘s in Fort Worth. Both shows will begin at 10 p.m. ET.
On December 29th, nugs comes alive with streams by Billy Strings, Umphrey’s McGee, The String Cheese Incident, Mt. Joy, and STS9. Billy Strings kicks off his three-night run at New Orleans’ UNO Lakefront Arena (8:30 p.m. ET), Umphrey’s McGee opens its trio of shows at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago with Mike Portnoy and Rory Dolan (lespecial) on drums and featuring support from lespecial (8:30 p.m. ET), STS9 begins a hometown three-night stand at The Eastern in Atlanta (9 p.m. ET), Mt. Joy continues at The Salt Shed (10 p.m. ET), and on the West Coast, The String Cheese Incident starts a three-night affair at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA (11 p.m. ET).
All of those acts return at the same time on the eve of New Year’s Eve, December 30th, with the addition of The Disco Biscuits, who will start a two-night hometown run at Philadelphia’s Franklin Music Hall (8:45 p.m. ET). For Umphrey’s McGee’s second of three shows in Chicago, the band will enlist drummers Rory Dolan and Ben Atkind (formerly of Goose) to sub in for Kris Myers. lespecial will once again open the show.
Finally, on the big night of New Year’s Eve, many acts will delay their start times to accommodate the midnight ball drop. Billy Strings and Umphrey’s McGee—who will both perform three-set shows, with Umphrey’s forgoing support from lespecial—will both begin at 9 p.m. ET. STS9 will push back its start time to 9:30 p.m. with Mt. Joy not starting until 11:30 p.m. ET (10:30 p.m. local). Livestreams for The String Cheese Incident and The Disco Biscuits will remain consistent at 11 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. ET, respectively.

Bob Weir & Wolf Bros will livestream their three-night run at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale, FL via Fans. Streaming service Volume is also offering free broadcasts of Phish after-parties by Dogs in a Pile on December 28th (11:55 p.m. ET) and a special performance by John Medeski, Billy Martin, Scott Metzger, and Nels Cline on December 30th (11:55 p.m. ET).
