The Jonas Brothers concluded their epic four-month arena tour at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday with help from special guest Bowser, aka Jack Black, who performed his hit song “Peaches” from The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Following an opening set by sibling-led soul-pop band Lawrence, Black emerged from beneath the stage during a break in The Jonas Brothers’ set dressed in the sparkly green Bowser suit he wears in the music video for “Peaches”.
“This song goes out to my one and only true love, Princess Peach,” Black said before delivering an arena-worthy performance of the emotional love ballad.
“Peaches” was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song on Monday alongside the film itself, which is in the running for Best Animated Motion Picture and for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The song also earned Black his first spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as a solo artist when it debuted at number 83 back in April with 5.8 million U.S. streams and 6,000 downloads in its first week (his duo with Kyle Gass, Tenacious D, has previously placed on both the Hot 100 and 200 albums charts).
