Papadosio handed the keys over to fans on Friday night in Denver by playing an all-request show. The single-set performance served as the culmination of the band’s Dream Out Loud event at Mission Ballroom which also featured sets by Desert Dwellers, Snakes & Stars (The String Cheese Incident’s Michael Travis), and 5AM Trio.
Papadosio announced the Choose Your Own Adventure concept last month, opening up the polls to fans. The setlist spanned the breadth of the jamtronic outfit’s career, all the way back to the band’s 2007 debut Magreenery with the rarity “PhDeez” and the obscure “Moon Entendre” from 2015’s Extras In A Movie. Of course, there were plenty of popular fan-favorites like “Hippie Babysitter” and “We Are Water”, two of the band’s top tracks on Spotify.
Plenty of love was also paid to Dosio’s 2013 double album T.E.T.I.O.S, which the band played in its entirety over two nights at a tenth-anniversary celebration last Thanksgiving. Friday’s show culminated with an encore of the band’s most iconic song, “Find Your Cloud”, with “The Sum” sandwiched in the middle.

In addition to being a fan-driven experience with a setlist chosen by listeners and arranged by the band, Dream Out Loud also featured a charitable component. One dollar from every ticket sold benefitted the Ian McGuire Music Scholarship Fund, established in memory of late piano teacher Ian McGuire to support the advancement of music education.
“I don’t think Ian had realized how much his playing inspired me to learn more about the piano—and teaching his playing has always, and still does, inspire me,” Papadosio keyboardist Sam Brouse said ahead of the show.
Papadosio will ring in the new year with a three-night New Year’s Eve through Florida, culminating on December 31st in St. Petersburg. For tickets and a full list of tour dates visit the band’s website.
