Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has announced the artist lineup for its 2024 event, due to return to Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA for two weekends in April 2024 (Friday, April 12th to Sunday, April 14th and Friday, April 19th to Sunday, April 21st).
Top-billed acts at the 2024 edition of North America’s largest music festival include Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, Doja Cat, No Doubt, J Balvin, Blur, Peso Pluma, and more.
Joining Lana Del Rey and Peso Pluma on the Friday lineup for both weekends (4/12, 4/19) are Lil Uzi Vert, Justice, Bizarrap, Deftones, ATEEZ, Sabrina Carpenter, Steve Angello, Gorgon City, Tinashe, L’Impératrice, Suki Waterhouse, Brittany Howard, BLOND:ISH, The Beths, Cimafunk, NEIL FRANCES, and more.
On Saturday, April 13th and Saturday, April 20th, Tyler, The Creator and Blur will be joined throughout the Coachella grounds by Ice Spice, Gesaffelstein, Sublime, Jungle, Dom Dolla, Bleachers, Grimes, Jon Batiste, LE SSERAFIM, Blxst, Purple Disco Machine, Skream & Benga, Orbital, Kevin Abstract, and more.
The Sunday lineups (4/14 and 4/21) will feature headliner Doja Cat in addition to J Balvin, Jhene Aiko, Khruangbin, John Summit, Lil Yachty, DJ Snake, Renee Rapp, Bebe Rexha, NAV, Taking Back Sunday, Barry Can’t Swim, Jockstrap, Mdou Moctar, YG Marley, and more.
Of note, No Doubt, the Gwen Stefani-fronted ’90s ska-punk band set to reunite for the first time in nearly a decade at Coachella 2024, is not listed on a specific day. Another notable ska-punk/reggae-rock outfit from the same era, Sublime, will also perform on both weekends with a lineup featuring original members Bud Gaugh (drums) and Eric Wilson (bass) alongside Jakob Nowell (vocals, guitar), the son of the band’s original frontman, Bradley Nowell.
While Wilson has remained active with vocalist Rome Ramirez as Sublime with Rome (Gaugh left the project in 2011 after just two years), the family of the late original singer, who died of an accidental heroin overdose in 1996, owns the rights to the name Sublime and legally required the latter-day incarnation to tour under the altered moniker. Ramirez recently announced his split from the project to focus on his solo music. Around the same time, Jakob joined in with Eric and Bud for a benefit show in Los Angeles.
As Jakob Nowell said in a statement, “This has so many layers for me. On a spiritual level, my father passed away when he was 28, and I am 28 now. It’s an honor to carry on with our family’s name and legacy with Sublime. I’ve been a performing musician with my own projects since I was 18. It’s an absolute privilege to be able to play these Sublime songs with legendary musicians like Eric and Bud.
“On a personal level,” Nowell continued, “My Uncles Bud and Eric are meant to play these songs and the fans want to hear them. I’m excited, nervous, thankful and humbled all at the same time to step into this role and start this new chapter,” he added. “It feels like my big crazy family is finally back together and I couldn’t be more happy.”
