A further 11 artists have been added to the already-expansive Great Southern Nights concert series line-up for 2024, set to take place across hundreds of NSW venues this coming March. Topping the bill for the second announcement is J Award winner G Flip, who will return to Wollongong for a performance at Waves in the the northern suburb of Towradgi.

“I’m so stoked to be playing a show in Wollongong,” they said in a press statement. “I didn’t get to play here on my last tour, so I’m really excited to be participating in Great Southern Nights for an epic show.”

Other acts set to join the Great Southern Nights festivities are The Teskey Brothers (also performing in Wollongong), The Jungle Giants (performing in Byron Bay), Montaigne (performing in Sydney) and Pete Murray (performing in Penrith). A full list of new artists and their corresponding shows are available below.

John Graham, the Minister for The Arts, described Great Southern Nights’ expansion as “great additions to an already stellar line-up” in a press statement. “The NSW Government is committed to backing live music and driving visitation to our regional centres through experience tourism like this,” he said.

Annabelle Herd, the CEO of the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), described the 2024 iteration of Great Southern Nights as “the best program we’ve had yet.”

“From the infamous city haunts to country town pubs, the live music community is huge and I love that they’re passionate about cheering our home grown talent onto the stages,” she said.

Great Southern Nights announced its return for 2024 last month. Included among the hundreds of gigs on the program are Jessica Mauboy playing in Tamworth, Sarah Blasko performing in Thirroul, Northlane performing in Wagga Wagga, Midnight Oil‘s Peter Garrett performing in Newcastle and Kate Miller-Heidke performing in Lismore. Jimmy Barnes, too, is scheduled to perform his first gig following his open heart surgery at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. The full program can be found on the Great Southern Nights website.
