Gem & Jam festival will return to “rock” Tuscon, AZ’s Pima County Fairgrounds February 2nd–4th, and Gone Gone Beyond is getting ready with an official festival playlist.

The restorative neo-folk quartet drew on its wide range of influences for the 29-track compilation. From ’60s psychedelic pop pioneers The Zombies to a track from contemporary hip-hop producer Metro Boomin featuring James Blake and A$AP Rocky, Southern rock titans The Marshall Tucker Band to global vibe-funk trio Khruangbin, Gone Gone Beyond’s diverse musical DNA is on full display in this playlist. The band also dives deep with tracks from Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, monolithic Irish singer-songwriter Nick Drake, a rootsy collab between Shakey Graves and Sierra Ferrell, and much more.

“These songs are a combination of records that have inspired us throughout our lives,” the band told Live For Live Music. “Some of these tracks have been with us since we were kids and some we’ve been diving into for inspiration more recently. We all chose songs that help us come to life and it was fun to see what each member of the band brought to the table. We hope these tunes can serve you in some way too; they’re very special to us.”

Gem & Jam’s 2024 lineup is similarly varied, topped by trance-fusion pioneers The Disco Biscuits, soundscape architect Of The Trees, and dubstep DJ Boogie T. The full roster ranges from eclectic future-funk sextet Lettuce to sensational Atlanta producer Daily Bread to renowned festival party-starter Andy Frasco & The U.N. and all points between. Gem & Jam will mark Gone Gone Beyond’s return to the stage after an extended break while the members focused on various pursuits and projects.

“This is our first performance back after Kat [Factor] took some time off since having a baby and Mel [Seme] was out for a bit starring in an off-Broadway show, so we are all psyched to be reunited to kick off another awesome year of live music,” the band said. “We’ve also got some exciting new songs we will be debuting in anticipation of a new album, so come hang!”
