Southern blues rockers The Black Crowes have announced their first new album in 15 years, Happiness Bastards, and shared the lead single, “Wanting and Waiting”.
Due out March 15th via the band’s own Silver Arrow Records, the ten-song collection was produced by Jay Joyce and features contributions from country singer Lainey Wilson. It is their first album since their two-part project Before the Frost… Until the Freeze, released in 2009.
“Happiness Bastards is our love letter to rock’n’roll,” said singer Chris Robinson. “Rich and I are always writing and creating music; that has never stopped for us, and it is always where we find harmony together. This record represents that.”
“This album is a continuation of our story as a band,” Rich Robinson added. “Our years of experience writing and making music and touring the world are represented in this record, and we were brilliantly guided by one of the best producers in the business, Jay Joyce. I am incredibly proud of what we put together.”
Happiness Bastards marks the group’s 10th studio album and the first since they reunited back in 2020 for a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker. The band released a six-song covers EP, 1972, back in 2022.
