Three giants of the modern funk scene, John Medeski, Adam Deitch, and Eric Krasno, play their first gig together as The Itch in newly resurfaced video shared by FunkItBlog.
The footage comes from All Good Music Festival at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV on July 14th, 2006 and features the trio ripping through a set of tunes by each member plus a cover of Stevie Wonder‘s “You Haven’t Done Nothin’”. It’s hard to believe it was the group’s first gig ever based on the performance, and it makes you wonder if maybe, hopefully, the world hasn’t seen the last of The Itch.
