Canadian cult favourites Chromeo have just unveiled their new album, Adult Contemporary. Dave 1 (Dave Macklovitch) and P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel)’s sixth studio LP sees the retro-nuevo electro-funk duo explore what it means to be funky in your 30’s and 40’s.
The 15-track LP was mixed by New York house legend Morgan Geist (Storm Queen, Metro Area), mastered by French Touch hero Alex Gopher (Phoenix, Air) and comes packing one sole guest feature in the form of La Roux, who’s been a close mate the band for over 15 years.
Chromeo – Adult Contemporary
The record is being billed as the beloved pair’s most musically expansive, lyrically focused, sonically polished and, above all, honest record to date.
Chromeo lasted visited fans here in Australia last year for Harvest Rock festival alongside Jamiroquai, Beck, Paul Kelly, Santigold and more, after previous visits for Splendour In The Grass and other tours.
No word yet if a new record will mean new tour dates to follow, but we’ll keep you posted with any new info as it develops.
