After winning a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for the second consecutive year earlier this month for City of Gold, Molly Tuttle was delighted to discover a cover of one of the songs she wrote for the album by “one of [her] favorite musicians,” Marcus King.
In a heartwarming reaction video, Tuttle listens excitedly to King’s rendition of “Down Home Dispensary” with a big beaming smile on her face.
“When one of your favorite musicians covers your song,” she wrote punctuated with mind blown emoji (). “you crushed this @realmarcusking!” she continued. “Hope to play it with ya sometime ”
At the end of the video, she exclaims, “Hell yeah, you killed it, Marcus!” though the blues guitar King was humble in the comments.
“Still Don’t think I was pickin’ fast enough to keep up with yall!! ” he wrote.
Tuttle popped up in the comments herself to offer a little insight into the tune. When one fan asked, “Is it meant to have a little “im just a bill” from school house rock or is that just my brain,” she replied, “this is exactly what i imagined while writing it too ”
