Kanye West has roused the fury of the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, by using a live sample of the Black Sabbath song “War Pigs” after he was denied permission.

After Kanye unveiled his new album, Vultures, at a listening party at Chicago’s United Center on Thursday, Ozzy took to social media to tell the world—in all caps—that he wants absolutely nothing to do with the controversial rapper.

“Kanye West ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF “WAR PIG” FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY,” Ozzy wrote. “HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT.”

He went on to add, “I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!”

Kanye, who has yet to respond to Ozzy’s statement, previously paid homage to Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” on the song “Hell of a Life” back in 2010 without issue, and last year, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne dressed up as West and his wife Bianca Censori for Halloween.

Vultures was supposed to drop today, Friday, February 9th, but has not yet been released. It is unclear whether the album will receive distribution from a major label after Universal Music Group announced in 2022 that Def Jam would sever ties with West. Another listening party is scheduled for Friday night in New York’s UBS Arena. It remains to be seen whether Kanye will remove the “War Pigs” sample for fear of legal action.
