Phil Lesh Announces 84th Birthday Celebration At The Capitol Theatre Featuring “The Q” Quintet

Phil Lesh will return to The Capitol Theatre to celebrate his 84th birthday with a run of five shows spread over two weekends.

The Grateful Dead bassist will kick off his birthday run by reuniting with his longstanding quintet “The Q” featuring Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes, Widespread Panic’s Jimmy Herring, Dark Star Orchestra keyboardist Rob Barraco, and drummer John Molo for a pair of shows on March 4th and 6th.

Then, after a week off, Lesh will return to The Cap on his birthday weekend for three Phil Lesh & Friends shows featuring a yet unspecified lineup. The shows will take place on March 13th, 15th (Lesh’s birthday), and 16th.

A ticket presale for the newly annoucned Phil Lesh 84th birthday run at The Capitol Theatre will run from Monday, February 12th at 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, February 13th at 10 a.m. ET.

Last year, Lesh celebrated his milestone 100th show at The Cap during his 83rd birthday run, which featured Goose‘s Rick Mitarotonda (guitar/vocals), John Medeski (keyboards), Grahame Lesh (guitar/vocals), Nicki Bluhm (percussion/vocals), James Casey (saxophone/vocals), Katie Jacoby (violin), and John Molo (drums).
