Luminary hip-hop outfit The Roots have once again curated what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event with Roots Picnic 2024, set to take place in their native Philadelphia, PA at The Mann on June 1st and 2nd.
Upholding a Roots Pinic tradition, the lineup unites generational voices with some of the culture’s most influential rising acts. Topping the lineup is a celebration of New Orleans led by Lil Wayne and The Roots featuring NOLA favorites Trombone Shorty, PJ Morton, and more. Additionally, powerhouse singer Jill Scott, who is coming offa massive 20th anniversary tour of her seminal debut album, Who Is Jill Scott?, will co-headline and continue to captivate with spirit, style, and soul in her hometown of Philadelphia.

The lineup also features recent Best New Artist Grammy Award winner Victoria Monét; André 3000 performing (on flutes) in support of his acclaimed solo debut, New Blue Sun; and arena-filling rapper Gunna. Also included on the bill are Sexyy Red, Tyla, Smino, Babyface, Adam Blackstone featuring Fantasia & Muni Long, Cam’ron, Nas, Wale, Robert Glasper featuring Yebba, J.Period Live Mixtape featuring Black Thought, Method Man, and Redman, and many more.
Offering an inimitable experience, Roots Picnic—produced in partnership with Live Nation Urban—will boast the Parkside Stage (formerly Podcast Stage) hosting a wide range of curated experiential media along with live podcasts and DJ driven immersive experiences. The concourse will be populated by various immersive activations to be announced soon.
Since launching in 2007, The Roots Picnic has stood at the crossroads of music and culture, entertaining, engaging, and enlightening millions of fans along the way. While it has predominantly been held in Philly, various iterations of the event have spread to other cities, like New York and L.A. This summer (6/29), Hollywood Bowl will also host a special Roots Picnic event billed as Roots Picnic: Hip-Hop is the Love of My Life featuring The Roots, Queen Latifah, Common, Digable Planets, and more.
