K-pop sensation BTS‘ member V is all set to return with a new single. He took to social media on Sunday to share that his new single, titled “FRI(END)S,” will be released on March 15 at 1 p.m. KST. The song lyrics will be entirely in English.
The song is described as a blend of pop, soul, and R&B by Big Hit Music. The single’s artwork, featuring the song title and release date on a vibrant pink background, hints at its sweet mood.
BTS’ V And The Band Members Are Now Preparing For Their Military Service
V’s new single announcement follows his mandatory military service in South Korea, which will keep BTS on break until 2025.
In a heartfelt message to fans before his enlistment, V expressed his sadness about being away from his beloved ARMY but promised to return healthy after 18 months. He assured fans that he had been working hard on various projects during his time away and asked them to look forward to what’s to come.
According to our last article, South Korean law requires all able-bodied men to serve in the army for 18 months by the time they are 28, though a law (now referred to as the “BTS law”) was passed in 2020 allowing South Koreans who “excel in popular culture and art” to defer service until the age of 30.
V’s enlistment follows his fellow bandmates RM, Jimin, and Jung Kook, who are also beginning the military process. Jin, J-Hope, and Suga are already serving their time in the military.
Fans around the world are eagerly awaiting V’s new single and are sending their love and support as he prepares for his military service. Mark your calendars for March 15 to catch V’s latest single.
