Khruangbin will give some lucky fans the chance to preview the band’s new album, A La Sala, before its April 5th release with a series of exclusive listening parties at immersive light installations, or Skyscapes, designed by renowned artist James Turrell.
Turrell’s work uses light and space to produce an atmospheric experience not unlike Khruangbin’s subtle grooves. In recent years, he has focused on fusing art and nature by using the sun’s shifting light into his Skyscape installations, which are spread out in cities throughout the world. Turrell Skyscapes in Houston, Austin, Philadelphia, and Claremont, CA will serve as the perfect spaces for fans to soak in Khruangbin’s new album at a series of listening events where attendees will use headphones for an inward listening experience, with the Skyspace illuminating at sunset as the visual accompaniment.
