The lineup announcement comes shortly after the premiere of Lolla: The Story of Lollapalooza at the Sundance Film Festival back in January. Developed by Paramount+ and produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, the documentary series chronicles how what began as a farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction in 1991 ballooned into one of the biggest festivals in North America with traveling offshoots around the world.
“As a naive teenager trapped in the doldrums of Suburbia, U.S.A, I attended the first-ever Lollapalooza, and it totally blew my mind,” director Michael John Warren (Fade To Black, Nicki Minaj: My Time Again) said. “It was dangerous, beautiful, and instantly widened my perspective. So, it’s an honor to be entrusted to tell the true story of one of the most astonishing cultural touchstones in the last half-century.”
