Isaac Teel may be best known as the drummer for instrumental prog-jam quartet TAUK, but his exploits as a singer earned him the honor of performing the national anthem ahead of a home win by the NBA champion Denver Nuggets against the Memphis Grizzlies at Ball Arena in Denver, CO on Monday night.
As Teel, a Denver resident, reflected on the experience in a social media post, “What a dream come true last night was. To be able to perform the national anthem in my new hometown with my whole family in attendance, was truly a blessing. God is so good, and so faithful to us.”
Outside of showcasing his drumming abilities with TAUK, Teel dropped his own solo R&B/soul album, Gentlemen’s Day, back in 2017 under his first and middle name, Isaac Sinclair. He’s also been known to lend his voice to various special projects like Purple Party: A Tribute to the Music of Prince, TAUK’s various tribute concept shows, and more.
Next up for TAUK is the band’s annual trip to New Orleans, LA during Jazz Fest for the debut of a new hybrid tribute concept, Tower of Wonder: A Tribute to Tower of Power & Stevie Wonder, on Saturday, April 7th at Toulouse Theatre featuring special guests Kanika Moore, Lyle Divinsky, and The Horn Section.
