Dogs in a Pile pay homage to the Grateful Dead, with an adventurous walk down “Shakedown Street” in new pro-shot video.

Captured during the band’s recent visit to Last Concert Cafe in Houston, TX on February 1st, 2024, the extended jam stretches 22 and a half minutes long and equally deep, with extended improvisation showcasing the young quintet’s vibrant energy and boundless creativity. The song starts out like a normal Dead cover but gradually transforms into something unexpected as guitarist Jimmy Law, drummer Joe Babick, bassist Sam Lucid, keyboardist Jeremy Kaplan, and guitarist Brian Murray follow a spontaneous thread, running the gamut from atmospheric bliss to country to burlesque-esque jazz with a whiff of “Bathtub Gin” before smoothly returning to the heart of town.
