It was a real party atmosphere as fans of all ages came together at the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate the kick-off electronic artist Deadmau5’s new series of tours that showcases his two-decade plus career. “retro5spective: 25 years of Deadmau5” marks his first ever appearance at the Hollywood Bowl.

The sold-out audience of concertgoers went wild with excitement and enthusiasm, dancing in the aisles dressed in their crazy, wild and colorful clothing. The spectacular, dazzling, and highly innovative show, was composed of three sets, highlighting the artist/DJ’s expansive career in electronic/EDM music. The visuals and lighting were quite unique and literally jaw dropping because of the staggering level of creativity and ingenuity that went into them. It was unlike anything this reviewer has ever seen before.

Several special guests (BSOD, Lights, WTF?, vocalists Kiesza, Hayla and Sofi) joined Deadmau5 to perform throughout the show, collaborating and singing.

The German techno marching band MEUTE treated the audience with two eclectic and satisfying sets of instrumental music we will soon not forget. Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee was also seen behind the board with Deadmau5. Lee is a part of WTF? and is longtime friend of Deadmau5.

The unforgettable show was often high energy, very fast paced, and thoroughly entertaining. Deadmau5 is still out there killing it, with his youthful energy grinning mischievously behind the board, or behind a monolith of his famous cube. The cube may have dwarfed him physically, but his stature in music is massively influential to artists and DJs in the explosively popular genre everywhere.
