Country singer-songwriter Morgan Wade will ride the momentum of her stellar 2023 sophomore album Psychopath into her next LP, Obsessed. Due August 16th via Ladylike Records/Sony, the album features previously released singles “Halloween” and “2AM in London” along with “Time to Love, Time to Kill”, which arrived on Friday. The “Wilder Days” singer will take the new disc out on the road with a headlining tour, set to run from July through November, scheduled around summer dates opening for Alanis Morrissette alongside Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

“Time to Love, Time to Kill” aligns with the stylistic evolution evident in the previous two Obsessed singles. Though Wade first broke through by reminiscing on her “Wilder Days”, the artist who has been exceedingly open about her struggles with substance abuse is instead turning her attention elsewhere. Through looking back on her past—for now—Wade is instead focusing on what lies ahead in her search for love (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards denied Rihanna‘s suggestion that Richards and Wade are a romantic item—a story that coincidentally broke the same day of Wade’s album announcement).

Wade recruited Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit guitarist Sadler Vaden to produce her first two albums but went in-house for Obsessed and tapped her touring guitarist Clint Wells to produce. Wade has sole songwriting credits on the album, but the 14-track collection will feature her first collaboration as Kesha joins her on “Walked On Water”.

Set to kick off on July 20th in Fargo, ND at a co-headlining gig with John Moreland, The Obsessed Tour will see support from solo artists Jesper Lindell, Cameron Whitcomb, Clover County, Madeline Edwards, and Abbey Cone on various dates. The tour will focus predominantly on the East Coast with excursions to the Midwest and Southeast, featuring stops in Albany, NY (9/27), New Haven, CT (9/29), Pittsburgh (11/7), Asheville, NC (11/10), Athens, GA (11/13), Lexington, KY (11/19), Madison, WI (11/22), and more before wrapping in Grand Rapids, MI (11/24).

Fans can sign up on Wade’s website to receive a code for the pre-sale beginning Tuesday, April 16th. Tickets to the Morgan Wade The Obsessed Tour go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 19th at 10 a.m. local time. See the graphic below for a detailed list of tour dates.

This announcement comes after Wade recently made national headlines for her decision to have a double mastectomy, updating fans throughout her recovery process. In a detailed post, Wade wrote that this was a “proactive” surgery she had in November after discovering she had the RAD51D gene mutation, which along with her family history of breast cancer puts her at higher risk for developing ovarian and breast cancer. The singer-songwriter stated, “I have 0 regrets and I am extremely happy with the choice I made.”
