Monday’s total solar eclipse made for a number of cosmically charged live music experiences, one of which was a powerful performance of The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Talking Fish at Jay Peak Resort in Jay, VT, which was right in the path of totality.
Thousands shared a glorious moment as everything came into alignment during PTF’s outdoor set. The band reached the song “Eclipse” just minutes before the shadow of the moon engulfed everything in sight, and the band stopped playing for five minutes as the crowd cheered and gasped in collective astonishment.
As daylight returned, the band hit the stage once more and opened the second set with The Beatles‘ “Here Comes The Sun”, further adding to the communal experience of the eclipse. The encore also included other eclipse-themed selections like Soundgarden‘s “Black Hole Sun” and Phish’s “Divided Sky”. The band finished the second set and a “Tweeprise” encore with two reprises of “Eclipse” for good measure.
