The Funk Sessions will return to Denver, CO’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 for an official Outside Festival after-party. The latest iteration of the long-running funk concert series, presented by Live For Live Music, will feature drummer Adam Deitch (Lettuce), saxophonist Dominic Lalli (Big Gigantic), guitarist Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff (Lettuce), trumpeter Eric “Benny” Bloom (Lettuce), keyboardist BIGYUKI, bassist Brad Miller, and other surprise guests.
The Funk Sessions originated at Cervantes’ in early 2019. In addition to regular runnings in Denver with a rotating lineup of all-star players from around the country, The Funk Sessions has since made regular trips to New Orleans during Jazz Fest. While Deitch, Lalli, Smirnoff, and Bloom have all taken part in previous editions of the series, the Outside Festival late-night show on June 1st will mark both BIGYUKI and Brad Miller’s The Funk Sessions debuts.
Tickets for the post-Outside Festival edition of The Funk Sessions go on sale beginning on Friday, April 12th, 2024 at 12:00 p.m MT here.
The inaugural Outside Festival, presented by Outside Magazine, will bring a number of notable acts to Denver’s Civic Center Park on June 1st and 2nd, 2024. On Saturday, June 1st, Outside Festival will kick off with performances by Thundercat, Lettuce, and Say She She. On Sunday, June 2nd, Fleet Foxes will lead the way alongside Andrew Bird and The Heavy Heavy. Additional artists are due to be added as the event approaches.
