The Rolling Stones have announced Widespread Panic, Tyler Childers, Lawrence, and more will provide support on their upcoming Hackney Diamonds tour.
The 16-city tour in support of the band’s new album, Hackney Diamonds, is set to kick off this Sunday, April 28th in Houston, where the Stones will be joined by Texas bluesman Gary Clark Jr. Following the tour opener, the band will head to New Orleans for its long-awaited (and long-sold-out) Jazz Fest performance.
The band was originally booked to perform at the fest back in 2019 but was forced to cancel the show and postpone its tour so Mick Jagger could undergo heart surgery. Organizers for Jazz Fest then called up Fleetwood Mac to take their place, however weeks before Jazz Fest they too canceled their appearance due to health issues. Jazz Fest vets Widespread Panic ultimately came through to take over the slot for the band’s 11th appearance at the festival in 22 years.
The announcement that Widespread Panic will open for The Rolling Stones at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High on June 20th arrives on the same day that Panic is set to play at opening day of Jazz Fest 2024.
Other artists set to open for The Rolling Stones’ Hackney Diamonds tour include Carin León, Electric Mud, Joe Bonamassa, The Red Clay Strays, Ghost Hounds, Bettye LaVette, Lainey Wilson, The War and Treaty, The Linda Lindas, The Beaches.
