Jester of the jam scene Andy Frasco and his merry band The U.N. got out the address book and called up all their friends for a rough and rowdy late-night rager during New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Tuesday. The star-studded soiree at House of Blues featured guest appearances by Kanika Moore, Daniel Donato and his Cosmic Country drummer Will Clark and bassist Will McGee, Maggie Rose, Ted Technical (Wednesday Night Titans), and Dogs In A Pile‘s Jimmy Law, Brian Murray, and Jeremy Kaplan.
It was a revolving door at the House of Blues as hundreds shuffled in for the official Daze Between New Orleans after-party. While the original concert announcement only confirmed appearances from Donato, Rose, Jimmy, and Jeremy, audiences in the packed house got a whole lot more as the stage swelled with special guests. Danny D got entangled in a head-banging guitar battle with the explosive Shawn Eckles, and Wednesday Night Titans bassist Ted Technical—who bears a striking resemblance to Gov’t Mule bassist Kevin Scott—lept from the top turnbuckle into a low-end brawl with Floyd Kellogg.
Jeremy, Brian, and Jimmy all got well acquainted with Frasco and his signature brand of debauchery on Tuesday for the kick-off of their tour together, currently in progress. Maggie Rose provided some serene harmonies with Frasco, and the show came to a touching climax when Andy brought out his best friend in the whole world Kanika Moore. The two best buds brought down the house together in a loving display of friendship which brought the jam-packed audience even closer together.
