Eggy, the rapidly rising quartet out of New Haven, CT, has shared its latest single, “A Moment’s Notice”.
As the band explained in a press release, the first lyrics of “A Moment’s Notice” were conceived in the bathroom by the band’s keyboardist, Dani Battat. The song grew from there into a rumination on future nostalgia inspired by the band members’ long-running friendship: Over a cleverly composed guitar riff from Jake Brownstein and an assertive yet limber bass groove that evokes various sources of sonic inspiration, from Paul Simon to Lorde and everything in between, “A Moment’s Notice” serves as a reminder to appreciate the smaller steps along your journey while they’re happening—because things can change in an instant. As drummer Alex Bailey sings on the song’s chorus, “In a moment’s notice we find, we’re caught on the other side.”
Per a post from the track’s producer, White Denim‘s James Petralli, the single is the first to arrive from a new Eggy album, though the band has yet to reveal the details of the full LP. As Petralli noted, “This album is very special to me. I learned so much through the process of making this music with them and will be forever grateful for their trust and generosity. Proud of all of us.”

Eggy will take “A Moment’s Notice” and the rest of its ever-growing repertoire as the band continues to tour heavily throughout the summer. In addition to the group’s first Canadian show (5/8 in Toronto), two more late-night shows at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas (5/30, 5/31) during Dead & Company‘s Sphere residency, an Independence Day opening slot for Blues Traveler at Red Rocks (7/4), and more, Eggy will hit a number of major music festivals in 2024 including Solshine Reverie, Bonnaroo (6/13–6/16), Electric Forest (6/20–6/24), High Sierra (7/5–7/7), 4848 (7/18–7/20), FloydFest (7/24–7/27), and Hot August Music Festival (8/10).
