After kicking off a fresh leg of the band’s ongoing Deuces Wild tour with two nights in Portland and a one-off up in Vancouver, B.C., Tedeschi Trucks Band landed in Seattle for two shows at Paramount Theatre on Monday and Tuesday.

Monday’s show fell on Memorial Day, so it felt more like a Sunday show. The band dug right in with “Don’t Let Me Slide” and followed it up with high-energy crowd favorites “Playing With My Emotions” and “Soul Sweet Song” before breaking into a crown jewel of the group’s impressive discography with the title track to 2022’s four-part audio-visual epic, I Am The Moon.

The first set finished with “Idle Wind”, which featured a double drums jam between Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell and Isaac Eady. The second set included a range of covers from The Wood Brothers‘ “Smoke Ring Halo” and Bob Dylan‘s “Down in the Flood”, which together opened the set, to The Allman Brothers Band‘s “Stand Back” and Blind Joe Reynolds‘ “Outside Woman Blues”, which led into an epic, set-closing “Bound for Glory”. Van Morrison‘s “Caravan” and TTB fave “Made Up Mind” brought up the rear in the encore slot.

Night two at Paramount Theatre likewise featured a mix of classic covers, familiar TTB material, and some selections from I Am The Moon, but the show was not without surprises. For one, Susan Tedeschi sat in on Eady’s drum kit and played alongside Falcon during the second set-opening I Am The Moon song “So Long Savior”, and the band was joined by guitarist Jeff Fielder for a pair of songs dedicated to late NBA star and music superfan Bill Walton, “Angel From Montgomery” and “Sugaree”, before closing the set with “I Want More” > “Beck’s Bolero”. An extended encore began with a potent pairing of “Swamp Raga” > “Midnight In Harlem”, followed by a cover of Joe Cocker‘s “High Time We Went”, once again featuring Jeff Fielder.
