Charley Crockett saddled up his $10 Cowboy Tour for a trip to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on Thursday where the country traditionalist delivered a marathon 29-song performance.

“The Man from Waco,” as he was dubbed with the release of his 2022 album of the same name, is out promoting his latest album, $10 Cowboy. The April release snapped a shocking gap of almost two years between studio albums for the prodigious singer-songwriter who is now up to 13 studio albums since 2015. However, in that period Crockett released his first live album, Live from the Ryman, documenting the live spectacle that Port Chester audiences go to witness firsthand on Thursday.

The 26-song main set jumped throughout Crockett’s baker’s dozen albums including covers from his Lil’ G.L. Presents series of tribute albums. Alongside his cache of originals, Crockett honored his influences with songs by Link Wray (“Juke Box Mama”), T-Bone Walker (“Travelin’ Blues”), James Hand (“Don’t Tell Me That”), Vincent Neil Emerson (“7 Come 11”), a set-closing Waylon Jennings song (“Gold Hearted Woman”), and a Tanya Tucker tune (“The Jamestown Ferry”) nestled amid the three-song encore. Amid all of these established songs, Crockett performed a new one that has yet to be released. The song currently has no official title, but the identifiable refrain “I woke up in New York City soaking wet” was surely memorable for the NYC-area crowd.
