Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based band Ferny Fairway have returned with a new single dubbed ‘State of Mine’.
Powered by gang vocals and fuzzy guitars, ‘State of Mine’ is an anthemic slice of indie-rock that comes packing a light-hearted music video directed by the band’s own Jack Williams.
Ferny Fairway – ‘State of Mine’
“‘State of Mine’ was based upon never feeling right after always trying,” the band explains in a press statement. “The song is about the realisation of ending past relationships and feeling like you’ve wasted time.”
Speaking on the music video, they continued: “The theme of the music video involves our frontman, Jack, in an argument with a girl before getting into the car and driving away. Jack picks up each member of the band, 1 by 1 and features the boys driving to different locations, singing the song in a convertible. Although the theme is about a breakup, we centred the majority of the video around the band members jamming to the track, as the tonality of the song makes the listener want to move and have fun.”
Ferny Fairway are currently in the midst of embarking on an East Coast Tour to celebrate the release, wrapping up this weekend in Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
